In terms of the gazette notification No. 1685/11 and dated 21.12.2010 gazetted under the Provincial Environment Statute (PES) No. 12 of 1990 no person shall generate, collect, transport, store, recover, recycle or dispose waste or established any site or facility for the disposal of any scheduled waste (hazardous waste) except under the authority of a license issued by the PEA-NWP.
The application for the Scheduled Waste Management License (SWML) shall be forwarded for all the activities of generation, collection, storage, transportation, recycling, recovery and disposal of scheduled waste listed in the schedule VIII of the gazette notification No. 1685/11 and dated 21.12.2010.

In terms of the Gazette Notification dated 21.12.2010 of 1685/11 the charges are as follows.
An inspection is carried out after the paying of the respective fee to the PEA-NWP. All kind of activities including the vehicles to be utilized for the transportation of scheduled waste is thoroughly inspected by the officers of the Authority. Apart from that analysis report and records on SWM shall also be scrutinized. The initial quantity of the waste generated should be equal to the quantity which will be disposed at the final point and therefore the copies of reports, declaration forms to prove the equal quantity was disposed should be submitted to the PEA-NWP.
